Lightly-raced four-year-old Lincoln's Secret and stablemate Sierra took the honours during a quiet gallop session at Awapuni this morning. Fast work took place on the plough (good), but fog prevented the timing of some gallops.

Lincoln's Secret (by Excelebration), who cleared maidens in the autumn, and Sierra (by Iffraaj), who was unplaced on debut last month, were paired over 1000m in 1.10.4, gathering speed to run home the last 600 in 39 even. Platinum Edition, who has been disappointing in recent starts, and a Dundeel three-year-old colt were sent 800m, but could only be timed the last 600 (39.7) because of fog. The Dundeel colt was a $200,000 purchase at last year's Ready To Run Sale and won a Foxton trial (850m) in March. Veracious, unplaced at Te Rapa last start, had trainer Deborah Parry aboard over 800m, the last 600 in 39.6, and Bella Margarita, with her trainer Lucy Tanner in the saddle, ran 1000m in 1.16.4, the last 600 in 40.2.
