AWAPUNI TRACKWORK Tuesday, August 6 By RON GURNEY Lincoln Falls and Sir Nate have trained on well since last week's Foxton trials, and they worked together in fine fashion at Awapuni this morning. Fast gallops were held on the plough (good) and on the heavy No 1 grass. Lincoln Falls and Sir Nate used the plough and were impressive cutting out 800m in 48.1, the last 600 in 35.9. Both horses contested a respective heat over 1000m at the Foxton trials last week, with Lincoln Falls finishing third. Not to be denied this morning, Thursday's Woodville entrant Prince Turbo (r65 mile) skipped over the 800m in 48.3, the last 600 in 36 even. He had his excuses at Otaki last start following placings at Waverley and Trentham. Wotarocker and Princess Ani were paired over 800m in 49.6, the last 600 in 36,5, while Secret Allure and Love Potion came up with 49.8 and 36.3. Car Pie, third at the Foxton trials, and Jessiegee were on terms throughout 800m in 50.8, the last 600 in 36 even, just a few minutes after NZ Oaks winner Sentimental Miss and Lincoln Raider clocked 50.1 and 37.1. Sentimental Miss scored an eye-catching win at the Foxton trials (open 1000m) last week, and her big spring mission in New Zealand will be the Group 1 Livamol Classic at Hastings in early October. Light Up had stablemate Almo Costa for a partner over 800m in 49.4, the last 600 in 37 even, and Woodville entrant Thewayyoumademe (mdn 1100m) caught the eye with 1000m in 1.4.2 and 37.7. Monsieur, who resumes after a long break (r65 1400m), covered 1000m in 1.6.3, the last 600 in 37.3, and Monkey Town (mdn mile) followed soon after with 1.9 even and 39.1. Hypatia (r65 mile) worked alone over 800m in 53.9, the last 600 in 39.7, while her stablemates Shelly's Lass (mdn 1300m) and Casino El Jay (r65 mile) ended with 600m in 39.6. Veloce (r65 1400m), who won at Otaki in June, sprinted 600m in 39 even, and Last Chance (r72 1100m) ended 800m with 600 in 40.1. Kings Kite worked from post-to-post (1400m), being timed his final 1000m in 1.11.8, the last 600 in 43.5. On the No 1 grass, Keep It Savvy (r65 1400m) and Brahmarahma (r65 mile) matched strides over 800m in 51.7, the last 600 in 38.7. Keep It Savvy looks a big improver from a resuming run at Awapuni recently. Oceans Away (mdn 1300m), who will have the blinkers on at Woodville, and That's Funny ran 1000m in 1.8.9, the last 600 in 39.4, and Veracious (r65 mile) went 800m in 52.8, the last 600 in 39 even. Empower (mdn 1100m) worked alone over 1000m in 1.10.9, the last 600 in 40.4, and his stablemate Derecho (mdn mile) recorded 1.10.6 and 41.4. A Fiorente maiden and a Sacred Falls maiden, both trained by Lydia Pickford, sprinted 600m in 41.6.
