AWAPUNI TRACKWORK Tuesday, September 24 By RON GURNEY Casino El Jay has taken no harm from his impressive last-start Marton victory, judging by his strong work at Awapuni this morning. The majority of fast work was on the plough, with one gallop recorded on the sand. Casino El Jay used the plough and had stablemate Hypatia, in at Taranaki on Saturday (r65 2000m), alongside over a quiet round before galloping 1000m in 1.7.3, thus completing the final 800m in 51.7, the last 600 in 37.9. Lincoln Green (by Ferlax) had jumps jockey Sean Fannin aboard over a smart 1000m in 1.3.1, the last 600 in 37.8, and he ran a very nice trial third at Foxton three weeks ago. Lincoln Dreamer and Thursday's Otaki entrant Ajay Lincoln (mdn mile) were paired over 800m in 51.3, the last 600 in 37.8, and Kamanda Lincoln went alone in 51.4 and 37.9. Car Pie (r65 f&m 1400m) had un-raced Iffraaj five-year-old Larry's Late alongside over 1000m in 1.8.9, the last 600 coming up in 38.2. Larry's Late won at the Levin jump-outs recently. Un-raced Berry Delightful (by Jakkalberry), a Foxton trial winner last week, did 800m in 51.9 and 38.1, and she is down to debut at Otaki on Thursday (mdn 1200m). A Fastnet Rock-Abeautifulred gelding, a winner at the Levin jump-outs recently, and an Uncle Mo-Gone Wild gelding (3rd), covered 1000m in 1.9.4, the last 600 in 38.7. They are trained by Peter Didham. Fully Charged, in at Otaki (r65 f&m 1400m), had trainer Marieke Simons aboard over 800m in 5.2, the last 600 in 38 even, while last-start winner Colorado Star and Shelly's Lass went together in 52.6 and 38.6. Last-start Waverley winner That's Funny (r65 mile), trained by Lydia Pickford, and Talia Yeates-trained Veloce matched strides over 80m in 53.2, the last 600 in 38.7. Taranaki dual nominee Floral Art and stablemate Kusuda were on terms throughout 1000m in 1.8.9, the last 600 in 39.9, and an Ocean Park filly trained by Lydia Pickford, sprinted 600m in 39.7. Desert Magic, off to Taranaki (r65 990m) worked alone over 800m in 54.3, the last 600 in 39 even, and un-raced Clownin Around (by Sacred Falls), third at the Foxton trials for Pickford, recorded 54.3 and 39.4. Hasler Lad and a Zed filly stablemate ran 800m in 54 even, the last 600 in 40.2, and He's Done A Runner, sprinted 600m in a quiet 41.8. Otaki entrant Tiro (r65 mile) and Hank Moody, in at Taranaki (r72 1800m), were casual over 1000m in 1.11 even, the last 600 in 42.1, and a Love Conquers All gelding trained by Lydia Pickford, was timed 600m in 42 even. A Vespa-Gofonze two-year-old colt and a Street Boss two-year-old colt, both trained by Peter Didham, ran 600m together in 42.4. Otaki runner My Father's Gun, who galloped solidly on Saturday morning, was kept to 800m in 60.1, the last 600 in 43.2. The blinkers go on this week. On the sand, Myrtle did nice work over 80m in 51.6, the last 600 in 37.2.
