AWAPUNI TRACKWORK Thursday, November 7 By RON GURNEY Princess Amelie and Platinum Invador stole the show during a quiet gallop session at Awapuni this morning. All fast work was on the plough (good), where Princess Amelie and Platinum Invador were paired over a smart 800m in 48.7, the last 600 in 36.6. Princess Amelie has made a terrific start to her four-year-old season with successive wins over 1200 metres, both on heavy tracks. She has now won five from 12, and heads to Riccarton next week for the $100,000 Group 3 Stewards' Handicap (1200m) on Wednesday. That's Funny had trainer Lydia Pickford aboard over 1000m in 1.4.7, the last 600 in 37.9, while Prince Turbo and stablemate Princess Ani went 800m in 53.7 and 37 even. Princess Ani is a sister to top-class mare Heni and was unplaced in her only start so far, a juvenile event last autumn. An Alamosa filly and a Howbaddouwantit filly, both trained by Mike Breslin, sprinted 600m in 38.5. Blue And Black and maiden stablemate Teddy Bear, both trained by Anne Herbert, ran 800m in a quiet 57.8, the last 600 in 40.5.
