AWAPUNI TRACKWORK Thursday, November 21 By RON GURNEY Lincoln Hills rubber-stamped his readiness for the Rangitikei meeting on Saturday with another first-class gallop at Awapuni this morning. Fast work was held on the plough (good) and on the No 1 grass (dead). Lincoln Hills (r72 1400m) used the plough and covered 1000m in 1.4.2, coming his final 800m in 48.8, the last 600 in 35.8. He was impressive working in company on Tuesday, but this morning he really made a statement on his fitness levels. He never wins out of turn, but southern apprentice Kozzi Asano rides the horse for the first time on Saturday, and will claim 3kg. Kamanda Lincoln and Platinum Spirit were paired over 1000m in 1.2.9, completing the final 800m in 49 even, the last 600 in 36.7. Rangitikei prospects Kellys Inspiration (mdn 1300m) and Lincoln Star (r65 mile) were on terms throughout 800m in 49.1, the last 600 in 36.3. They did similar time together on Tuesday. Voralto (by Sacred Falls) and Princess Ani (by Towkay), both trained by Mike Breslin, ran 800m in 51.3, the last 600 in 36.2. The pair had one race each last autumn, but were unplaced. Queen Kamada, in the 3yo 1300m on Saturday, and stablemate Blue On Black were timed 1000m in 1.5.1, the last 600 in 37.2. Bulls Country Cup (1400m) chance Heni, who is in foal to Alamosa, warmed up from the 1000m, which took 1.9.8, to run home the final 800m in 52.3, the last 600 in 37.7. A Darci Brahma filly and an Echoes Of Heaven filly, both trained by Jeff Lynds, left 800m behind in 51.4, the last 600 in 37.8. Talented filly Belle Plaisir, who is being set for the Eulogy Stakes at Awapuni in three weeks time, had Nikki Hurdle's un-raced Iffraaj-Cabasso gelding alongside over 800m in 52.8, the last 600 in 37.4. Salamanca (Bulls Country Cup) worked alone over 1000m in 1.5.3, the last 600 in 38.1, while That's Funny (r65 2200m) came up with a quieter 1.9.1 and 39.4. A Pierro gelding and a Rubick gelding, both trained by Mike Breslin, sprinted 600m in 41.9. On the No 1 grass, Lincoln's Gal (r65 1200m) and Chartwell matched strides over a smart 1000m in 1.3.1, the last 600 in 35.9. Lincoln's Gal worked in grand style on Tuesday as well, and certainly looks a dividend prospect fresh up on Saturday. Empower (mdn 1300m), who is knocking on the door of success, ran 1000m in 1.5.5, coming the final 800m in 50.7, the last 600 in 38 even.
