Lincoln Falls And Pinkerton In Great Touch
By RON GURNEY | April 23, 2024

Lincoln Falls on the synthetic track and Pinkerton on the plough were the most impressive workers at Awapuni this morning.

Fog prevented the timing of some gallops.

Lincoln Falls was sent 1000m in 1.5.1, the last 600 in 36.6, reinforcing his belated return to top form. Papa Surf had Showbastian Coe alongside over the same distance in 1.4.8 and 37 seconds even.

Wal and unraced two-year-old Felucca (by Time Test) gathered speed from the 1000m (1.10.6) to finish with 600 in 37.9.

Man Express and Reign It In were paired over 1000m in 1.6.4, the last 600 in 38.7, while Fashion Icon and Ardee Boy ended 800m with 600 in 39.3.

Popsagoosey worked alone over 1000m in 1.11.4, the last 600 in 39 seconds even, followed soon after by La Bella Grande and Nadheema in 1.10.1 and 40.5. Their stablemate Bradman did 800m in 56.3 and 40.8.

On the plough, last-start winner Pinkerton was at a good clip throughout 1000m in a very smart 1.1.8, the last 600 in 35.4. More wins look in store at short notice.
Chikira Lass did a quiet round and a half before sprinting home 600m in a bold 35.3.

Belle's Echo and Love Tania were on terms throughout 1000m in 1.3.8, the last 600 in 36.5, while their stablemates Platinum Sixty Six and Final Chapter clocked 1.4.6 and 36.8.

Lantern Way and Love Janie covered 1000m in 1.3.5, the last 600 in 37 seconds even, and last year's Grand National winners West Coast and Berry The Cash showed their fitness with 1.3.7 and 37.3.

Rocking Light had Kentucky Boy for a partner over 1000m in 1.2.6, the last 600 in 38.7, while their stablemates Super Spirit and Super Flash lost no kudos with 1.3.6 and 38.4.

Smokin Mo did a quiet round before galloping 1000m in 1.6.2, the last 600 in 38.6, and Perfect Test recorded 1.6.7 and 38.4. This pair finished third in separate heats at the Foxton trials three weeks ago.

Lincoln's Kruz, another to work alone, ran 1000m in 1.7.1, the last 600 in 38.1, while Miyazawa and Danjuro went together in 1.8.4 and 38.5.

Last-start winner Hemi Ridapest and Platinum Designs were locked together over 1000m in 1.7.7, the last 600 in 38.8.

Make Time went an easy 800m in 54.6, the last 600 in 39.8, while Midaswellbjack and an Almanzor mare ran 1000m in 1.11 and 39.9.

Fashion Icon and Ardee Boy ended with 600m in 39.3, and Surprize Me, a winner at the Levin jump-outs last week, did 800m in 53.7, the last 600 in 41.2.
