Form analysis and tips:

Race 1 Carrfields Livestock/CP Wool 3YO Maiden (Mdn 3YO 1200m) a small but even field for the first of the day. Satin Belt placed in all four runs as a 2YO. She was good enough to run third in the Listed Castletown Stake sin her last race. She was spelled and placed in a rceent trial. the two kilo all9owance of stable apprentcie Holly Andrew brings her into this race carrying just 53.5kg. Scott Base showed plenty of ability as a 2YO. He was just under eight lengths from the winner in the Manawatu Sires an dplaced at Listed level at Ellerslie in his last run before a spell. he won a recen trial. The locals have two good chances in the race in Platinum Edition in Son Of Surf.   5 - 1 - 2 - 3

Race 2 H&T Agronomics/Agricom Handicap (Rating 75 1200m) - Hard Merchandize looked very smart as a 2YO and the local kciks off after a recent trial placing. With the claim he gets into the race at a very dangerous weight. Ishinktaatledoo is a winner of her only run here and while she has been mixing her form she is very capable on her day. Travimyfriend showed plenty of ability last season and has had two trials to prepare while Classic touch will be hitting the line very well.  5 - 8 - 2 - 7

Race 3 CR Grace Ltd/Marsh Insurnace Brokers Handicap (Rating 85 2100m) - Hard to be Humble was a recent winner at Hawera before running a good second at Waikato. The horse that beat her that day was northern visitor Youwantmore who has since run third at Ruakaka. Sylvester is a course & distance winner an dhas been freshened since his Tauherenikau run while Perfectlyenchanted and Gobstopper were first  and second in that Tauherenikau race and deserve respect.  7 - 4 - 6 - 2

Race 4 Manawatu Toyota/John Turkington Limited Handicap (Rating 65 2100m) - Mesmerize was good when winning at Wanganui. He then went to Ellerslie and only battled on a very wet track. Back to the left handed way of going he can bounce back. Alfie Dee ran two good races at Riccraton before his good second at Ellerslie. Lovetokeephim is in solid form at the moment and he should be right in the fight while Zedac won well at HAwera before a fair effort for fourth at Woodville.  6 - 2 - 1 - 4

Race 5 Nu Farm/FPA NZ Handicap (Rating 5 1400m) - Rayas resumed with a good run at Taupo for sixth. He will appreciate the extra 400m. Awesome Al is fresh up and won a recent trial. She is capable of figuring. Class Above and Veracious are capabel of figuring in the trifectas whiel cases could be made for Yin Dragon, The Rippa and Kermit. 5 - 7 - 2 - 9

Race 6 waterForce/Farmers Transport Handicap (Rating 75 1550m) Big Ben is in solid form currently and drops back in distance on his last run at Taranaki for fifth. That will suit. Crafty Jess is a northenr visitor who was a brave second at Taranaki and will appreciate the extra distance. Justlikeyasister the local will come right into this if there is any rain on the day and her third at Tauherenikau is the best guide while Strolling Vagabond ran two good races down at Riccarton.  8 - 12 - 4 - 7

Race 7 Boehringer Ingelheim Metric Mile(Opn Hcp 1600m) a cracking field for the days Group 3 feature. This looks a race in two between the two up and comers. The northern visitor is Francaletta who has won five from six and impressed winning at Hastings fresh up over 1200m. She is yet to line up on a Heavy track but this should not worry. Dolcetto has won six from nine and been runner up twice. He impressed winning an open handicap at Tauherenikau over 1400m last time. Outside that cases could be made for Authentic Paddy, Five To Midnight, Platinum Command, Art Deco, and Slimline. 4 - 6 - 12 - 3

Race 8 Pilet Contracting/Pioneer SeedsHandicap (Rating 65 1550m) Finn is a drop back horse and despite having to carry top weight looks well placed. The last two start Maiden winners Wapiti and Look Out appear the biggest dangers while Bella Blue form the North was a good third at Taranaki last time out. 1 - 5 - 4 - 8
