AWAPUNI TRACKWORK Thursday, December 13 By RON GURNEY Just Fabulous and Original Gangster are poised for top performances on home turf on Saturday judging by their final gallop at Awapuni this morning. All fast work took place on the plough (good), where Just Fabulous (Eulogy Stakes) and Original Gangster (r65 1550m) went 1000m together in 1.3.5, coming the final 800m in 50 even, the last 600 in 37.3. Just Fabulous is a form maiden stepping up to Group 3 level on Saturday, but is giving every indication she is worthy of respect in the small field. Original Gangster cleared maidens on his home track last start over Saturday's distance and has trained on beautifully. Last Chance (r65 1200m) and Henree Winkler, who has not raced for 20 months, were paired over 1000m in 1.5.6, covering the final 800m in 49.2, the last 600 in 37 even. Lubaya (r72 1400m) and Windsor were on terms throughout 1000m in 1.6.3 and completed the final 800m in 51.4, the last 600 in 37.2. Platinum Mam'selle (r65 1200m) and He's A Freak (r65 1550m) left 800m behind in 50.9, the last 600 in 37.3, while Kapinos and Colorado Miss came up with 52.2 and 37.6. Passing Glance had Piccolo Toro for a partner over 800m in 51.9, the last 600 in 38.8, while their stablemates Lincoln's Gal and a Super Easy filly ended with 600m in 39.3. Miss Doherty, in Saturday's r82 1550m, galloped with stablemate Rosetta over 1000m in 1.5.9, coming the final 800m in 52.3, the last 600 in 39.3, and Before Dawn went alone in 1.6 even and 39.1. Lincoln Star (r65 1550m) and Platinum Bordeaux were not after time over 800m in 53.9, the last 600 in 40.1, and neither were their stablemates Tout Sur Moi and Maidstone Park, who clocked 55.8 and 41.6. Lincoln's Secret (r65 2100m), who looks a big improver, and Waikato Cup runner Five To Midnight were kept to 800m in 58.5, the last 600 in 43.6. Five To Midnight can prove his Counties Cup failure all wrong.
