Night Roca Ready To Dance
By RON GURNEY | June 07, 2022

Maiden three-year-old Night Roca is on target for a big run fresh up this week after galloping boldly in training at Awapuni this morning.

All fast work was held right-handed on the outside of the heavy course proper, but fog hindered the timing of some trials.

Night Roca, in at Hawera on Thursday (mdn 1200m), gathered speed from the 1000m mark to run her final 800m in 55.8, the last 600 in 40.9.

The filly has been placed in two Foxton trials over the past few months, and the daughter of El Roca and Postponed mare Nightsong looks ready to pounce. The blinkers go on.

Frankenstein (r65 mile) and Cavani were paired over 800m in 56.7, the last 600 in 41.1, and Precious Niamh, an improver's fifth at Otaki two weeks ago, recorded 56.9 and 41.7. She was entered for both Hawera and Trentham (mdn mile).

Trentham runner Semper Magico (r65 1200m), unplaced when resuming, was sent 1200m, the last 600 in 42.7.

Valhalla Rising, in the maiden mile at Hawera, was kept to a last 600 in 45.6. Canbiteabit, entered for both meetings, clocked 47.1.
