Rock Island Line and Cher Ami highlighted a quiet gallop session
AWAPUNI TRACKWORK Thursday, April 8

Rock Island Line and his un-raced stablemate Cher Ami highlighted a quiet gallop session at Awapuni this morning. All fast work was on the plough (good), where Rock Island Line and Cher Ami were paired over 800m in 50.1, the last 600 in 37.6. Rock Island Line has not raced since the Manawatu Christmas meeting, but is coming to hand well, and Cher Ami (by Shocking) finished second in a Foxton trial (1400m) early last month. She shows a lot of promise.

Lincoln Raider, off the scene since November, worked alone over 800m in 51.7, the last 600 in 37.7, while an Alamosa filly and a Road To Rock filly, both trained by Mike Breslin, went together in 51 even and 37.4.

Semper Magico, who has been freshened again, covered 1000m in 1.7.4, the last 600 in 38.9, and he finished third to Deerfield and Motivation in an open heat (1200m) at the Foxton trials two weeks ago.

Putorino, who doesn't seem to have luck on his side, was timed 1000m in 1.7.2, the last 600 in 39.3. It is only a matter of time before he puts the record straight.

Un-raced three-year-old filly Bee Sting (by Vespa) was not after time over 800m in 59 even, the last 600 in 40.6, and she is a half-sister to former top mare Heni.

Super Flash, who has not raced since the spring, ran 1000m in 1.11.7, the last 600 in 41.7, and a Niagara mare with Lisa Latta ended with 41.9.
