AWAPUNI TRACKWORK

Maiden gelding Splodge and his more accomplished stablemate Keep It Savvy hinted at immediate success at Wanganui when they galloped together at Awapuni this morning.
Fast work was held on the No 1 grass (heavy) or on the plough (good), but fog again hindered the timing of some gallops.
Splodge (mdn 2060m), who chalked up his first placing last start, and Keep It Savvy (r74 1360m) used the No 1 grass and were paired over 1000m in 1.8.5, the last 600 in 39.8. They should both run in the money on Thursday.
Last-start Wanganui winner Durham Lad worked alone over 800m in 52.8, the last 600 in 39.1, and has trained on well.
Wanganui runner Sir Beets (r65 mile) and Little Uzi (Manawatu) were on terms throughout 800m in 53 even, the last 600 in 39.6.
Four-year-old mare Friday (by Alamosa), who has not raced for 18 months, ran 1000m, being timed the final 800m in 53.4 and 39.1. She finished second at the Foxton jump-outs two weeks ago and is down to run on Thursday (mdn 1360m).
Nelson's Blood (by Charm Spirit), on debut at Wanganui, was at a strong clip early over 1000m in 1.4.6, easing to complete the last 600 in 40.2.
He won a Foxton jump-out (1000m) a fortnight ago and then finished second at the Otaki trials (1000m) last week. A big run on Thursday would not surprise.
Semper Magico was sent 1000m in 1.10.3, the last 600 in 40.3, and has paid a place dividend in all five starts this campaign. Derecho left 800m behind in 55.5 and 40.6.
Albufeira and Cholula, three-year-old fillies unplaced on debut at the Feilding meeting two weeks ago, sprinted 600m in 41.9, and Red Rufus ended with 42.1. Kusuda posted 42.9.
Dal Kilchoan covered 1000m in 1.10.1, the last 600 in 42.3, followed straight after by stablemate West Coast in 1.11.5 and 42.4. Jugador took 1.14.1 and 42.2.
Rock Island Line and Wanganui maiden entrant Sacred Pearl were not chasing time over 800m in 60.9, the last 600 in 44.2. Sacred Pearl was unplaced on debut at Feilding.
Super Spirit ran 1000m in 1.17.1 and Master Fin clocked 1.17.4, but fog prevented the timing of their last 600s. Jenever, a big chance at Wanganui, was let off with a very easy 600m in 46.6.
On the plough, Princess Ani and Prince Turbo matched strides over 1000m in 1.6.even, the last 600 in 37.7. Princess Ani is knocking on the door for her second success.
Te Awe Awe, racing at Wanganui with the blinkers on, and Angelina Jay earned admirers with 1000m in 1.5.2, the last 600 in 38.3. They are with Jeff Lynds.
Dedoje shaded unraced three-year-old filly Sylviemosa (by Alamosa) at the finish of 800m in 57 even, the last 600 in 40.5.
Busybeingfabulous, getting fitter by the minute, worked alone over 1000m in 1.8.2, the last 600 in 41.3. He should go very close at Wanganui.
Dawn County and St Nancy went an easy 1000m in 1.18.8, but could not be timed the last 600 because of fog. The blinkers go on Dawn County for Thursday (mdn 1360m).
