Bee Enchanted Set To Go On Synthetic Again
By RON GURNEY | May 02, 2024

Bee Enchanted and Bubbajock earned admirers for Sunday's meeting on the synthetic track when they worked separately at Awapuni Thursday morning.

Fast work during a very quiet gallop session was on the synthetic track.

Bee Enchanted worked alone and gathered speed from the 1000m to run his final 800m in 49.9, the last 600 in 36.7.

The Per Incanto four-year-old gelding has blotted the copybook in his last two races, but that could all change on Sunday when he returns to racing on the synthetic (r75 1000m).

All his three career wins have been on the synthetic track over 1200 metres. The only difference on Sunday is the drop in distance to 1000 metres.

That looks ideal because he has not raced since Easter Monday, five weeks ago.

Bubbajock (mdn 2140m) had co-trainer Shaun Fannin aboard over a quiet round and a half before galloping 1000m in 1.4.4, the last 600 in 36.9. It was good, strong work.

La Bella Grande, who was unplaced when resuming on Anzac Day, ran 1000m in 1.7.2, the last 600 in 38.8.

Unraced two-year-old filly Rushin Home and a War Decree gelding, both trained by Mike Breslin, were kept to 800m in 58.1, the last 600 in 41.3.

Rushin Home (by Russian Revolution) has been placed at the Levin jump-outs.
