AWAPUNI TRACKWORK

Last-start Waverley winner Obrigado and his stablemate Prince Turbo highlighted a quiet gallop session at Awapuni this morning. Fast work was held on the plough (good), where Obrigado was given a quiet round before speeding up on the second circuit to run 1000m in 1.6.5, the last 600 in 37.2.

Prince Turbo did not have a warm-up lap, but recorded a similar time, covering 1000m in 1.6.6, the last 600 in 37.4. He has taken great benefit from two resuming runs.

Kapinos and a Tivaci two-year-old stablemate sprinted 600m in 38.1.

Un-raced Tavistock three-year-old filly Zambezi Lass and a Sooboog gelding, both trained by Mike Breslin, ran 800m in 53.3, the last 600 in 39.2.

Sequoia Dawn and Nunsobad were not after time over 800m in 58.8, the last 600 in 43.8, while their stablemates Cholula and Son Of Thunder sprinted 600m in 42.3.

Lydia Pickford-trained Tumbleweed was kept to 1000m in 1.17.6, the last 600 in 43 even, and stablemate Surprize Me took 1.16.5 and 44.
