Savabeel gelding Morus, trained by Peter Didham, and Bryce Newman's team all gathered momentum at Awapuni on Tuesday morning with some smart times.
Fast work was held on the plough or on the synthetic track.

Morus used the plough and covered 1000m in 1.4.6, with the final 800m taking 50.6, the last 600 in 36.9.

The six-year-old, fitter for one race under the belt in a new campaign, is well overdue a return to winning form, but there are signs that another day in the sun is close at hand.

His stablemates Omega Boy and Wal were paired over 1000m in 1.6.8, completing the final 800m in 51.8, the last 600 in 38.1. Omega Boy won fresh up on the synthetic track last Sunday week.

Maiden gelding Whatsinyourwallet, owner-trained by Stephen Mercer, ran 800m in 51.4, the last 600 in 38 seconds even., and he has been freshened since racing in July.
Thirsty and stablemate Hips Don't Lie went 1000m together in 1.8.4, clocking 54.4 for the final 800m, the last 600 in 40.4.

French Doll and Dapper Dan, two more from the Breslin barn, ran 800 in 57.4, the last 600 in 41.9, while Showbastian Coe and Shirley Temple recorded 57.3 and 42.1. Pepeha and Ima Brazen One ended with a quiet 44.8.

Trainer Bryce Newman had the synthetic track for galloping to himself for most of the morning, (8 horses) highlighted by individual workouts by Bold Belle, Rue Cler and Sugah Sweet.

Newman rode all three, with Bold Belle breezing over 800m in 49.3, the last 600 in 35.9. Rue Cler went earlier with 49.3, the last 600 in 36.1, followed by Sugah Sweet in 49.7 and 36.9.

Altezza (by Turn Me Loose) and Street Appeal (by Ardrossan) matched strides over 1000m in 1.6.3, taking 51.3 for the final 800m, the last 600 in 38.4. Altezza has been going well at the trials.

Lets All Boogie, second at the Foxton trials last week, was timed 800m in 54.3, the last 600 in 39.4, while unraced pair Treat Yourself (by Savabeel) and Only The Lonely (by Tivaci) came up with 54.9 and 40.3.

Treat Yourself was a winner at the Foxton trials last week, and Only The Lonely placed third.
