Mark Oulaghan-trained jumpers Super Spirit, Kentucky Boy and Dal Kilchoan stole the show at Awapuni on Thursday morning.

Fast work during a quiet gallop session was held on the plough or on the synthetic track.

Super Spirit and Kentucky Boy used the plough and, after a warm-up round, went 1000m in 1.3.5, the last 600 in 36 seconds even.

Not to be denied, their stablemate Dal Kilchoan worked alone in similar work, covering 1000m in 1.3.8, the last 600 in 38.4.

Jumping options coming up for all three horses include Rotorua on Sunday week and Hawera a week later.

Unraced three-year-old colt Kids Got Gears (by Magnus) had an unnamed companion over 800m in 52.1, the last 600 in 38.2, while their stablemates Platinum Designs and a Charm Spirit three-year-old colt sprinted 600m in 39.7.

Unraced four-year-old mare Saxon Lady (by Saxon Warrior) and unraced three-year-old gelding Sand Point (by El Roca), both trained by Mike Breslin, ran 800m in 55.1, the last 600 in 41.7.

Colorado Star and last-start winner Crouch were not asked for their best over an easy 600m in 41.6.

On the synthetic track, visiting trainer Bryce Newman sent four-year-old mare Vavoom over a quiet round and a half, finishing with a 600m dash in 40.7. She won a maiden at Tauherenikau in the autumn.

Her stablemates Treat Yourself (by Savabeel) and Only The Lonely (by Tivaci) sprinted 600m in 42.1, while Crafty Carrie (by Staphanos) and an Ocean Park filly came up with 42.6. These four are all unraced.

Charlotte's Way, in the $100,000 Polytrack Innovation Race at Awapuni tomorrow, did a very quiet 1000m, the last 600 in 46.1.
