Sacred Pearl rubber-stamped her fitness for Wanganui on Saturday when she galloped boldly at Awapuni this morning.

Fast work was held on the synthetic track, where Sacred Pearl was paired with stablemate Cher Ami over 1000m in 1.3.1, the last 600 in a smart 34.9.

Sacred Pearl has not won a race for over a year, but does boast a very honest form-line since resuming at the beginning of June.

The Sacred Falls mare looks well placed to return to winning form in the open 2060m on Saturday, especially with a 2kg allowance from northern apprentice Ace Lawson-Carroll.

It has been longer between drinks for stablemate and fellow seven-year-old Cher Ami, who has been working very well of late, and her form could change for the better next start.

Queen Of Spades worked alone over 1000m in 1.5.9, the last 600 in 37.5, and so did stablemate Town Cryer, who posted 1.9.4 and 38.5.

Both horses head to Hastings on Saturday week, with Town Cryer down to resume in the Group 1 $400,000 Tarzino Trophy (1400m).

She won the (Listed) Wairarapa Breeders' Stakes in February, finished second in the inaugural Rangitoto Classic a month later, and ended her campaign with a second in the Group 1 NZ Thoroughbred Breeders' Stakes at Ellerslie.

Saturday's Wanganui acceptor Lovehelen (r65 2060m No 1) cruised over 1000m in 1.15.1 and completed the last 600 in 39.1.

She won a maiden race over 1600 metres four starts ago and, though out of the dividends in her last three starts, has had some excuses.

Colorado Star and Hips Don't Lie were on terms over 1000m, covering the final 800m in 54.4, the last 600 in 40.6.

Their unraced stablemates Sand Point (by El Roca) and Saxon Lady (by Saxon Warrior) did similar work, with 800m in 54.9, the last 600 in 40.4.

Sevenayes, resuming at Wanganui on Saturday (r65 1200m), and stablemate French Doll, who won a Foxton trial last week, were timed 800m in 55.5, the last 600 in 40.7.

Unraced four-year-old mare Testing (by Time Test), a trial winner in March, and three-year-old filly Sea Wolf (by U S Navy Flag) ran 800m in 55.7, the last 600 in 41.2.

Last-start Riccarton winner Donnybrook worked alone over 800m in 56.9, the last 600 in 41.9, and Showbastian Coe ended with 41.8. Unraced three-year-old Kosta (by War Decree) was kept to 600m in 43.8.
