Bulls trainer Bryce Newman figured prominently with a handful of spring prospects at Awapuni on Thursday morning.
Fast work was held on the synthetic track or on the plough.
All his horses galloped on the synthetic track, where Sooboog mare Lets All Boogie took the time honours with 800m in 50.4, the last 600 in 35.8.
The five-year-old has raced only five times, but has recorded a second and two thirds, and has not been since the autumn.
An Ocean Park filly and a Tivaci filly, two more from the Newman barn, ran 800m in 50.8, the last 600 in 37 seconds even.
Their unraced stablemate La Nostra Sirena (by Redwood) worked alone over 800m in 52.2, the last 600 in 37.1, and three-year-old filly Velton, not seen since the autumn, took 53.5 and 37.2.
Meanwhile, Felucca (by Time Test) and unraced Emerald Fury (by Almanzor), three-year-old fillies trained by Peter Didham, sprinted 600m in 37.3. Felucca has recorded a third and a fourth from her two starts so far.
Zackery covered 800m in 53.7, the last 600 in 38.5, while Lemaitre and Prince Revolution, two maiden geldings from the Didham stable, posted 55.1 and 38.3.
Sunday's Egmont acceptor Sotirio (r60 1400m) ran 800m in 52.3, the last 600 in 39 seconds even, and stablemate Chance Taken went 53.7 and 39.9.
Unraced three-year-old gelding Scandalize (by Shocking) and unraced four-year-old mare Wairakei Queen (by Redwood), both trained by Matthew Eales, were sent 800m in 54.6, the last 600 in 39.1, while Danjuro and Miyazawa recorded 54.9 and 39.2.
On the plough, jumpers Super Spirit and Kentucky Boy did a quiet round before galloping a bold 1000m in 1.5.1, the last 600 in 36.9. Super Spirit tackles the 0-1 win steeplechase at Hawera on Sunday, and looks a good chance.
Unraced three-year-old Sand Point (by El Roca) and unraced four-year-old Saxon Lady (by Saxon Warrior) left 1000m behind in 1.9.6, the last 600 in 38.9. They are with Mike Breslin.
Smart mare Fashion Icon, trained by Peter Didham, was kept to 800m in 55.8, the last 600 in 39.9, and Sailor Jack covered 1000m in 1.9.5 and 40.2. Colorado Star and Thirsty came up with 1.9.8 and 40.5.
Manifique, not seen since the autumn, did not chase the clock either over 800m in 59.7, the last 600 in 42.5, while her stablemates Ruffhouse Rosie and Starbilly went together in 60.7 and 43.4.
