Smart three-year-old Farravallo turned on the speed at Awapuni Tuesday morning, when fast work was held on the synthetic track or on the plough.

Farravallo, ridden by Kavish Chowdoory, used the synthetic and skipped over 1000m in an impressive 59.1, the last 600 in 34.4.

The Belardo gelding returned to his best at Trentham, but was scratched at the barrier at Hastings last week when looking to extend that top form. He may not race again until Ryder Stakes day at Otaki on Saturday fortnight.

A Darci Brahma two-year-old and an Ocean Park two-year-old, stablemates of Farravallo, sprinted 600m in 36.6.

Last-start Hastings winner Sotirio covered 1000m in 1.7.8, the last 600 in 38.4, while his stablemate Barzetti was kept to 800m in 53.1, the last 600 in 39.4. They go to Trentham on Saturday.

Unraced two-year-old Sand Point (by El Roca) and unraced three-year-old Fou The Noo (by Alamosa) ran 800m in 59.3, the last 600 in 42.7. They are with Mike Breslin.

Reprobate, a shade disappointing last start, and Ardee Boy were kept to 800m in 60.8, the last 600 in 43.3.

All other gallops were on the plough, where the time honours went to Super Flash and unraced four-year-old mare Basslock (by Shocking), who left 1000m behind in 1.3.1, the last 600 in 37.2.

Three-year-old filly Lucsa, who has not raced since March, and an unraced stablemate were timed 800m in 50.8, the last 600 in 37.5.

Two Per Incanto two-year-old fillies, also trained by Lisa Latta, took 55.6 and 37.7, and a Tivaci gelding trained by David Goldsbury sprinted 600m in 37.8.

Semper Magico, narrowly beaten in his hurdle debut last start, did a quiet round then covered 1000m in 1.5.7, the last 600 in 38.1. In similar work, his stablemate Kentucky Boy took 1.6.1 and 38.3. They head to Trentham.

Lady Performer was sent 1000m in 1.7.2, the last 600 in 38.6, while Rocking Light and his unraced half-brother (by Staphanos), both trained by Mark Oulaghan, clocked 1.7.4 and 38.1.

Unraced three-year-old fillies Think I'm Irish (by So You Think) and Passenger (by Tarzino), both trained by the Fannin-Schofer partnership, went 1000m in 1.9.5, the last 600 in 38.7. Think I'm Irish was second at the Foxton trials last Thursday.

Crouch worked alone over 800m in 52.5, the last 600 in 38.4, and Off To The Nunnery posted 55.1 and 38.6. De Oro Charm, who has not raced since the spring, took 56.5 and 40.6.

Pinkerton was at a good clip early over 1000m in 1.8.9, but eased over the concluding stages to finish with 600 in 40.4.

Goddess, unplaced on debut in March, ran 1000m in 1.10.7, the last 600 in 41.6, and Perfect Test was kept to 600m in 42.5.
