Jestin Case was given a light gallop at Awapuni this morning, but looks certain to hold his solid form at Trentham on Saturday.

Fast work was held on the plough or on the synthetic track during a quiet session, and fog hindered the timing of some gallops.

Jestin Case, in the r75 1400m on Saturday, used the plough and was kept to 1000m in 1.14.3, coming the final 800m in 57.6, the last 600 in 42.8.

The mare won over 1600 metres at Otaki three starts ago and then posted successive seconds over the same distance at Trentham.

The step back to 1400 metres on testing ground is not expected to be a concern.

The only other horse on the plough this morning was Reign It In, who sprinted up 600m in a casual 45.8.

On the synthetic track, Call A Friend and Craftsman were paired over 1000m in 1.9.4, thre last 600 in 37.6.

Their stablemates Sevenayes, Thirsty and unraced three-year-old Dapper Dan (by Vespa) all went together over 800m in 56.1, the last 600 in 40.8.

Last-start Hastings winner Sotirio was timed 800m in 58.3, the last 600 in 40.5, and he goes to Trentham for the r65 1400m with strong prospects of back-to-back victories.
