Lincoln Towers on the synthetic track and stablemate Lincoln's Kruz on the plough were star trialists at Awapuni on Tuesday morning.

Last-start maiden winner Lincoln Towers cruised over 1000m in 1.1.6, the last 600 in 34.6, and is going from strength to strength.

Very smart track gallops over the past month or so indicated his turn was coming, and he duly obliged with a convincing victory on the synthetic track two weeks ago.

There were four other gallops on the synthetic track this morning, with Showbastian Coe and Kereti going together over 800m in 51.1, the last 600 in 36.7.

Showbastian Coe's last four starts have all been on the synthetic track, yielding two wins, a second and a third.

Kereti (by Darci Brahma) is a two-year-old son of former top mare Heni and finished second on debut at Awapuni two weeks ago.

Last-start Hastings winner Donnybrook and four-year-old mare Shirley Temple were paired over 1000m in 1.10.8, the last 600 in 38.8. Shirley Temple (by Vespa) finished fourth on debut at Awapuni.

Almalane, who has chalked up three successive thirds this campaign, worked alone over 800m in 53.9, the last 600 in 38.7. After two thirds on the synthetic track he reverts to the grass at Hastings on Thursday (mdn mile).

Unraced two-year-old geldings Sand Point (by El Roca) and Afterthought (by So You Think) were given an easy 800m, the last 600 in 44.3, and they are with Mike Breslin.
All other gallops were on the plough, where Lincoln's Kruz had Jonathan Riddell aboard over 800m in 48.5, the last 600 in 35.2.

Top jumpers Berry The Cash and West Coast showed their fitness levels with 1000m together in 1.2.4, the last 600 in 36.8.

Their stablemate Rocking Light (by Rock 'n' Pop), freshened since racing in early May, ran 1000m in 1.4.1, the last 600 in 36.7, and Pinkerton, who has won three from four this campaign, clocked 1.5.1 and 36.4.

Deadly Pony, narrowly beaten at Otaki last start, did two quiet rounds with a 600-metre sprint at the end of each one, the second much quicker in 36.2. He goes to Hastings on Thursday (mdn mile).

Last-start maiden winner Jack Morrison was timed 1000m in 1.5.7, the last 600 in 38.1, while unraced three-year-old filly Passenger (by Tarzino) and a Tarzino two-year-old, both trained by the Fannin-Schofer partnership, recorded 1.7.9 and 37.9.

A Sweynesse two-year-old gathered speed from the 1000m to finish with 800m in 52.5, the last 600 in 37.8, while a Staphanos two-year-old sprinted 600m in 37.7. They are with Mark Oulaghan.

Hastings runner Super Gold (mdn mile), trained by Nicky Goss, covered 1000m in 1.4.8, the last 600 in 38.1, and in-form maiden Verardino (mdn 2100m) posted 1.9.7 and 39.2.

Reprobate (mdn 1400m) and Korolova (mdn 1200m), two more for Hastings, were kept to 1.15.6 and 41.5.
