Maggie McMuffin and stablemate Princessa Gold were in fine form at Awapuni this morning.
Fast work was held on the plough (good) or on the synthetic track.
Maggie McMuffin and Princessa Gold used the plough and cut out 1000m in 1.7.5, increasing the tempo as they went to finish with 600 in 35.9.
The same two horses were in stunning form on Tuesday of last week, indicating they are certainly in top shape.
Maggie McMuffin is mixing the form-line, but has still recorded three minor placings from eight starts so far. A step up in distance could be ideal.
Princessa Gold has had no favours with barrier draws and is ready to return to the winners' circle.
Good mare Manifique and smart three-year-old Danjuro were paired over 800m in 49.8, the last 600 in 36.6.
Platinum Attack (by Santos) and Platinum Cruiser (by Per Incanto), maiden geldings trained by Lisa Latta, covered 1000m in 1.2.9, the last 600 in 37.6.
Their stablemate Unscripted, who is mixing her form, ran 1000m in 1.5.2, the last 600 in 37.1, and Far Site, not raced since August, went alone in 1.6.4 and 37.2.
Lincoln Star and Manzor Blue were kept to 1000m in 1.12, the last 600 in 40 seconds even, while a Per Incanto and a Time Test, an unraced duo trained by Mark Oulaghan, did 800m in 56,2, the last 600 in 40.1.
Fabian Hawk, last seen in November, ended with 600m in 42.8, and Bellucci clocked 43.6.
On the synthetic track, Wal, Omega Boy and Lamitre went together over 800m in 49.2, the last 600 in 36.5, while Gum Basher, Miyazawa and a Vespa gelding posted 50.7 and 36.9.
Starbilly, off the scene since the spring, and Prince Revolution did nice work over 800m in 53.3, the last 600 in 37.4.
Prince Revolution (by Embellish) was unplaced on debut last October and has not raced since. All eight horses are trained by Peter Didham.
